Junior cricket registration - 2025-26 season

Welcome to the 2025/2026 season - junior cricket registration is now open for players looking to join the Weston Creek Molonglo Junior Cricket Club in the 2025/26 season.

A registration email with how to's, important dates, early bird info, sibling discount codes and Age Group/Grading information has gone out to all current players.

If your child is new to the club and you would like to be sent this information and be added to the mailing list please send us an email to the Junior Registrar (wcmcc.juniors@gmail.com) and we will get the info out to you!

The season will commence in early October following the school holidays after term 3 and will be completed early March 2025, with the summer holidays breaking over Christmas.

Key dates:

10th August - Registrations Open
31st August - Early Bird $15 off rego voucher closes
15th September - Registrations Close - We will have the ability to have late regos but for team allocation would be advantageous to have all players registered by this date.

Grading and trials for DIV 1 teams and COLTS.

Grading and team selection

The club again will be using a independant assesor of our players wishing to play DIV1 and COLTS - There is information attached around our grading policy and processes. All players are required to adhere to these guidelines.

It is important that only players wishing to play DIV1 and COLTS attend the trials.

Those players happy to play ungraded and with friends are NOT required to attend the trials.

There will be more information coming out in the coming weeks about the trials and at this stage they will be held mid September - Dates, Times and venues to be confirmed over the coming weeks.

PLEASE NOTE - The COLTS, Stage 3 Turf and some Senior Grade competitions this year will be played on synthetic wickets with a number of turf grounds offline for pitch renovations.

Blast Cricket programs (Players aged 5 - 10)

We will again partner with Cricket ACT to deliver the Cricket Blast program for season 2025-26. The Woolworths Cricket Blast program has been designed to engage and empower kids up to 10 years old of all skill levels and abilities, unleashing their potential through fun, game-based activities. Kids (and parents) will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to progress through the program to junior cricket and beyond! Our #1 aim is FUN!

Full 13-Week & Half 9-Week programs are available.

Programs run for 60 minutes with multiple sessions offered.

• Monday 4pm-5pm & 5pm-6pm

• Friday 4pm-5pm & 5pm-6pm

• Saturday 8am-9am & 9am-10am

Programs will start on the week of the 13th of October.

Volunteers needed

We again will be requiring volunteers to assist with teams and encourage as many parents and carers as possible to put their name forward to assist with the getting our players on the field each week. Please consider this when registering your child and if you can help please advise. You don't need to be an expert - just an ability to provide a safe and fun environment for all players.

Assistance is available in relation to coaches courses that are run by ACT Cricket and would assist with anyone thinking about becoming a coach and developing our players as they get to on with their cricket journey.

We also will need new committee members as we have had a number of members moving on as their players move into senior cricket - really appreciate their efforts, and if anyone is interested our next committee meeting is 13th August where you can come and find out some more information in relation to what is required. We meet once a month for approx 1hr during cricket season.
